Vasthu Tips for a North-Facing Plot in Tamil Nadu

North-facing plots are considered auspicious — if you design with them, not against them. Here's how we apply Vasthu without compromising daylight or flow.

Vasthu Tips for a North-Facing Plot in Tamil Nadu

Over 1 in 3 of our Coimbatore enquiries come from owners of north-facing plots. The orientation is genuinely auspicious in Vasthu — but only if the main door, kitchen and master bedroom are placed correctly.

Main entry

On a north-facing plot, place the main door in the northern half — ideally in the 4th, 5th or 8th pada from the north-east corner. Avoid the dead-centre and the north-west corner.

Kitchen and pooja

Kitchen sits south-east (Agni corner) with the cook facing east. Pooja goes in the north-east, never under a staircase or against a bathroom wall. Both are non-negotiable in our standard Vasthu plans.

Master bedroom

South-west — the heaviest corner of the home — is reserved for the head of the family. Beds face south or west so the head points south while sleeping.

Frequently asked

Is a north-facing plot good as per Vasthu?
Yes. North-facing is considered highly auspicious in Vasthu Shastra as long as the main door is in the northern half (preferably the 4th, 5th or 8th pada) and the south-west corner is left structurally heavy.
